I am a Costa Rican biologist with broad interests in evolution, biogeography, (macro)ecology and conservation. I love frogs, maps, mountains and beaches, sports, and music.
Most of my expertise and previous work has been focused on amphibians, from the description of new species to the resolution of questions related to their evolution, ecology and conservation. However, I love to collaborate with friends and colleagues interested on other taxa to address questions we have in common.
In general, my research aims to understand the processes that have shaped geographic patterns of biodiversity and evaluate the pressures that threatens their persistence. I recently joined the BioInvasions, Macroecology, and Global Change Research Group at the University of Vienna, Austria.
